Brand New HAIRSPRAY Backdrops Capture 60’s Era East Coast Living
We have an exciting inventory update for all the HAIRSPRAY fans out there. Our design team has been hard at work putting together a set of HAIRSPRAY backdrops. These new drops incorporate vibrant colors and classic 1960’s themes. We are happy to introduce our Baltimore City Square backdrop and would like to share our progress on our soon to be released Tracy’s Place drop. We think that both pieces will make great additions to our growing selection of HAIRSPRAY backdrops.
Introducing Baltimore City Square
Baltimore City Square is architecturally correct. It depicts Baltimore’s West End, the downtown area, with a retro 1960’s feel. This unique backdrop features Maryland Seafood and Blue Crab Restaurant on one corner. It also features Mr. Pinky’s Plus Size Women’s Clothing Store on the other corner. WZZT-TV takes center stage in this piece and is bordered by row housing inspired by the actual architecture of the city of Baltimore. The final touch is two 60’s era muscle cars, a classic Chevy Sedan and 60’s era Corvette. The show-specific themes makes this piece an ideal HAIRSPRAY backdrop. However, the overriding 1960’s feel is perfect for any show requiring a classic 60’s feel.
Welcome to Tracy’s Place ( A Work in Progress)
Tracy’s Place is a work in progress that we would like to share with you. This drop captures the essence of every 1960’s era urban neighborhood. It features the Har-De-Har Comedy Shop popularized by HAIRSPRAY: THE MOVIE in the center. To further incorporate the 1960’s themes that HAIRSPRAY thrives on, we have added in a record store that sells classic 45 and 33 RPM wax records and a hair salon that plays off of Sonny and Cher. We finalized the neighborhood theme with a local pizzeria. With its vibrant colors, this drop is perfect for your rendition of HAIRSPRAY or any other 1960’s-set show!
We will also release a 3rd HAIRSPRAY design soon. This original entertainment backdrop provides the necessary imagery for the inside of the TV station from HAIRSPRAY. While this show is the inspiration for this particular drop, it will be a great fit for any show, musical or event that wants to capture pop culture based themes from Doo-Wop to Disco.
