Summer was TheatreWorld Backdrops Highest New Production Cycle Yet!
Summer was busy, yet rewarding for TheatreWorld’s creative and artistic teams. Our teams produced circa 80 new hand-painted designs to enhance our steadily-growing scenic and stage backdrop rental inventories. Many of these new designs support the most popular shows our clients produce, like Alice in Wonderland, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Into the Woods, Lion King, Mary Poppins, Seussical, and 42nd Street. As in recent years, TheatreWorld Backdrops’ design teams also worked with a few of our clients to design several backdrops that incorporate our customers’ input. Those backdrops will debut early this early fall.
Our team members and customers alike loved the major enhancements to TheatreWorld’s Fairytale series. From a secluded, Disneyesque Child’s Dreamland to a romantic Enchanted Castle, our design team called upon their inner-child to develop new backdrops filled with the scenic imagery that dreams are made of! Our designers also tackled Palaces, Palace Foyers, snow-covered Landscapes, and a Frozen European Village. These new additions will perfectly support the snow-filled fairytale Frozen. These hand-pained scenic masterpieces are a welcome addition to our expanding backdrop rental inventories. We are very proud of them. Many customers have already ordered these new backdrops for their fall and spring productions!
Around the World Collection
TheatreWorld’s Around the World collection of scenic stage backdrops also grew this summer. Through this collection, you can experience the Hills of the African Safari, lava-filled beaches of Hawaii, Roman-built architecture in Saint Peter’s Square, and so much more. (Without ever having your passport stamped!) Should you wish to stay in the U.S., our beautiful scenic imagery depicts Miami, San Francisco, New York, Maine, Hawaii, and more. (It will not disappoint!) TheatreWorld Backdrops’ growing inventory and top quality scenic imagery sets the mood for any Stage Production, Dance Recital, or Special Event. Fall and Holiday Backdrop Updates
TheatreWorld’s client service teams look forward to supporting you and your teams as you plan your stage and theatrical seasons and holiday productions. Due to popular demand, we also produced multiple duplicates for many of the backdrops in our Nutcracker Series. Additionally, we are currently in the process of adding several more new designs to our holiday and snow collections. We will release these new backdrops in late August and early September. However, even with the additional duplicates and multiple new designs, our seasonal inventory is limited. We encourage everyone to try out our “Wish List” feature for planning and ordering your show and production packages. Our customer feedback shows that this is a very useful planning and ordering tool.
Major Summer Projects
In addition to our major scenic design and backdrop development efforts, everyone on our discipline teams undertook several major projects. TheatreWorld’s website development team, supported by our Search and SMO consultant, enhanced the website to more efficiently support mobile devices. The team also enhanced the site’s overall user-friendliness. Our administrative and back-end support systems’ teams completely re-wrote our internal backdrop management and support systems. Our backdrop quality control teams steamed hundreds of backdrops (and made repairs and touch-ups to another hundred or so) to ensure our inventory is in the absolute best condition for your upcoming productions. Additionally, a small group of TheatreWorld Backdrop rental units were downgraded. These backdrops are only available for stage productions/applications.
