New TheatreWorld Themed Scenic Backdrops Arrive To Support Winter/Spring Theatrical Productions, Dance Companies And Event Planners
During the summer and fall, TheatreWorld Backdrops announced more than 30 new and enhanced designs to support shows and events scheduled for early 2013. Since that announcement, several of our clients have scheduled these new themed designs based on the pre-production sketches.
TATTERED AMERICAN EAGLE On the Road with LET FREEDOM SING!
One of the first drops to debut will be TheatreWorld’s new Tattered American Eagle. In January, this drop will support Stages Productions’ touring production of LET FREEDOM SING. This dramatic and beautiful new backdrop is Americana at its finest. We recommend it for several popular musicals, including ANNIE GET YOUR GUN and BYE, BYE, BIRDIE. It is also great for dance and entertainment events that pay tribute to the red, white, and blue and the people who serve her.
We will show pictures of the Tattered American Eagle backdrop after the opening performance of LET FREEDOM SING.
At our clients’ request, we are including several production sketches at various stages of production. These are not final pre-production sketches. We still have additional alterations and enhancements to make.
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
Our brand new “Be Our Guest” Show Curtain backdrop is heavily inspired by the Disney touring production of this fantastic show. We have tried to combine the feeling of the show’s expensive-to-create set pieces and the beautiful high-end stage curtain in one highly colorful and dramatic backdrop.
In addition to this backdrop, we are producing a new Signature Series Belle’s Town Square. This highly-detailed drop is more lighthearted than some of our current selections. These drops suit younger audiences and school productions perfectly. Both new offerings will support many theatrical or themed presentations.
HAIRSPRAY
This impressive new design, our Baltimore City Square, will give audiences the feel of West Baltimore in the 1960’s. It highlights the TV station, Mr. Pinky’s, Maryland, and Baltimore and draws on both the live stage and movie productions. Again, this is an early draft image, not the final product. The final Signature Series backdrop will be very colorful, highly detailed, and very much 1960’s. In addition to supporting HAIRSPRAY, this unique backdrop could also support any period shows or themed events.
42ND STREET AND MORE
This Metropolitan Train Station features our artists’ impression of the Grand 30th Street station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This beautiful and historic train station originally opened in the early 1900’s as the Pennsylvania Railroad Station. Multiple movies have featured the station and, additionally, it is on the National Historic Registry. TheatreWorld’s new Signature Series Backdrop will bring realism and historical beauty to your live presentations.
As always, we look forward to your comments on our new designs. We will continue to push the envelope to create the best high quality stage imagery available.
